There’s a reason our country enjoys so many magnificent Championship courses. The modern game of golf was believed to have originated in Scotland during the middle ages. By the 18th Century, the game was a national craze and was played in much the same format as today. By the 19th Century, our intrepid explorers and merchants had spread the ‘great game’ across the world, making golf one of our most famous exports.
The Scottish Highlands are rich in world-class courses that attract many avid golf fans each year. A number of these Scottish golf courses were first established in the 19thcentury and retain much of their Victorian charm and elegance. Our Local Scottish Golf Courses
We have five local golf clubs that are within easy reach of our hotel, all of which are exquisite golf courses that attract a number of international visitors each year. Our dedicated golf co-ordinator is on hand to help you set up the ideal golf itinerary for the break of a lifetime.
One of the top three Scottish golf courses, Castle Stuart is also a Championship Links course that offers stunning views over the Moray Firth. This course was the location of the Scottish Open in 2011, 2012 and 2013, so playing here allows you to pit your performance against the sports finest players. Only 6.6 miles away from Inverness, Castle Stuart is just a short drive from our hotel.
Royal Dornoch is consistently rated one of the best golf courses in the world and is high on many golfers “to play” lists. Ranking at number four in the top British Golf Course list,this magnificent course offers an unbeatable playing experience by the blue-grey waters of the Dornoch Firth.
