The Abbotsford Hotel has a rich history as a long-standing symbol of hospitality. This iconic establishment, originally constructed in 1916 as private residence, transitioned into the Iona hotel before being renamed the Abbotsford in 1966. An extensive remodel was completed in 2024 and blends modern amenities with the hotel’s original charm and character, creating a unique and inviting atmosphere.
Under the new ownership in 2023 of Brian Daly, a native of Ayrshire, and Tina Daly from the U.S, the hotel has been thoughtfully revitalised with contemporary amenities whilst preserving its distinctive Scottish charm that seamlessly integrates with the building’s character.

At The Abbotsford, our accommodations have been thoughtfully crafted to immerse you in the true spirit of Scotland. We warmly welcome you to settle in and embrace our rooms just as we do. Let us offer you a glimpse into the unique personality of each room. On the main floor, you’ll find our exquisite Elegance Rooms, designed to envelop you in pure luxury and ensure you feel truly pampered during your stay. Our back corridor, lovingly known as the Happy Hall, gives you a playful and whimsical take on Scottish culture, while adding a little history lesson relating to each room. The top floor, better known as the Fairways Corridor, pays homage to 5 of the golf courses close to The Abbotsford Hotel. Each room has been designed with a nod to a clan’s tartan that bears significance to each golf course.
Our hotel features 14 ensuite bedrooms, each designed for comfort and relaxation. We can accommodate up to a maximum of 27 residents, ensuring personalised attention and a warm and inviting stay.
