Castle Cottage, Harlech

Castle Cottage Restaurant with Rooms is located in two 400 year old buildings, the Llew Coch annex being Grade 2 listed. Glyn and Jacqueline have owned and been running Castle Cottage since November 1989 and have 70 years (!) experience between them in the hospitality and restaurant trade.

The rugged exterior belies the contemporary interior, its modern design bringing together natural materials and up-to-date fixtures and fittings. A warm welcome, excellent food & wine as well as relaxed friendly hospitality are the hallmarks of this family run establishment.

The restaurant is the main focus of the business, Glyn and his team promote and champion local and Welsh produce for their menu as much as is possible The dining room seats up to 40 persons. The style of service at Castle Cottage is relaxed and not too formal, we want our customers to unwind and enjoy their food and wine. To enjoy your aperitifs and canapés we have a bar with solid oak flooring and a contemporary recessed log burning fire providing a comfortable place to relax. There is a lounge with a fantastic view of Mount Snowdon which is also complemented by original contemporary Welsh art. Free high speed WiFi broadband available throughout the Castle Cottage, - the strongest signal is in the bar and lounge area where you can enjoy a drink whilst surfing the world wide web!

All our seven bedrooms are en-suite and have super-king sized beds that can become twins. The three executive rooms also have 2 seater leather sofabeds. All have remote colour flat screen TVs with DVD/CD and DAB alarm clock/radio, i Pod docking stations, tea & coffee making facilities, hairdryer, desk fan, slippers,Welsh mineral water and bowl of fresh fruit. The annex rooms also have under-floor heating in the en-suites.

ROOM 4 On the ground floor front of annex. Executive -very large bedroom with low-ish ceiling, lobby with built-in wardrobe. Large en-suite has bath with separate 'wet area' - glass block wall with no shower tray to step up onto and no screen or door - useful if you are not fully mobile. Suitable for a family room.

ROOM 7 On the 1st floor front of annex). Executive - very large bedroom, high ceiling with a wealth of beams - one is low-ish! Lobby for coats etc. Views of the Castle and sea in the distance. Large en-suite has bathtub and a separate '2 person' sized enclosed shower. Suitable for a family room.

Décor is contemporary in the style of understated luxury. To counterbalance the character of the 400 year old buildings the furnishings and fittings are modern, sleek and contemporary - solid oak furniture, brushed chrome lights etc. The colour scheme is warm creams with a dash of colour in the bespoke curtains, headboards and cushions. Heating is controlled individually in each room.

The Castle Cottage  is perfectly situated to play the finest golf courses in North Wales such as Conway , Nefyn & District , Royal St. David's , Portmadog, North Wales Golf Club , Maesdu and Bulls Bay , all close driving distance from the Hotel.
