Alcaidesa Links is set in perhaps one of the most scenic locations on the coast of southern Spain. Although it lies in relatively rural surroundings, it’s positioned by the sea and boasts spectacular views of Gibraltar, Morocco, the Costa del Sol and on a clear day, the Sierra Nevada. The topography of its terrain consists of rolling hillsides, sloping gently to the sea and resulting in a stunningly beautiful beach.

The course offers an uninterrupted 18-hole round with a considerable number of its holes allowing play next to almost 2km of beachfront and between sand dunes covered partially by vegetation. As well as the classic Links-style course (Alcaidesa’s flagship since 1992), there is a new Heathland course which opened 2007 and blends seamlessly with the gently undulating landscape and typical groves of the area. Thanks to internationally renowned golf course designer, Dave Thomas, the course is fit for any type of golf championship. ranging from the plateau area (holes 1 to 5 and 17th and 18th) where the course has the feel of a Heathland course with wide fairways to the river valley where the holes meander along the valley and incorporate various water features/hazards.
