The Penha Longa Golf Course is a fabulous 18 hole course situated in Sintra, only 30 min drive from Lisbon. The Penha Longa Resort forms part of the Protected Landscape Area of Sintra and Cascais.
Quinta da Penha Longa is a relevant historical sitebecause the first monastery of the Order of St. Jerome was built there in 1355. During the past 600 years, many buildings have been constructed in Penha Longa, such as the Palace, the Church and other sites which can be seen on the two golf courses (the 18-hole Atlantic course and the 9-holes Monastery course).

One of the Best European Golf Courses

Ranked in the Top 30 Courses in Continental Europe, the Atlantic Penha Longa Golf Course was created by the famed Robert Trent Jones Jr. The architect designed the Penha Longa golf course, in Sintra, to best take account of the steeply sloping terrain and excellent views across the Sintra mountains to the sea beyond. With its bold drives, courageous approaches and artful greens, it is both an adrenalin rush and a soothing journeythrough one of Portugal’s most inspiring landscapes.
