NINE DISTINCTIVE COURSES

The majestic pines towering over historic Pinehurst rustle and softly whisper the legends of golfers like Jack Nicklaus, Payne Stewart and those who have gone before and experienced one of America’s greatest golf courses and premier resorts.

The stories of champions and the traditions of championship golf have been created at Pinehurst since 1898. As the site of more championships than any other golf course in the country, Pinehurst hosted 14 days of championship play in 2014, with back to back U.S. Open and U.S. Women’s Open Championships for the first time in their history.

The resort offers nine championship golf courses.

The Resort Clubhouse

Since 1898, Pinehurst has been the foundation of golf in America. The Pinehurst Resort Club, which serves its guests in the finest traditions of golf, has been the catalyst for the growth of five world-class courses that begin and end at its doors. Over the past century, the  Resort Clubhouse has evolved from a modest two-story structure to the expansive and iconic venue that overlooks Pinehurst’s fairways today, one whose architecture has become recognizable world-wide.

Pinehurst Resort, home to back-to-back U.S. Opens in 2014, has hosted more single golf championships than anywhere else in America. In 1996, Pinehurst was designated a National Historic Landmark by the U.S. Department of the Interior. This designation included the entire historic district of the Village of Pinehurst to include the country club and the five golf courses.

The Resort Clubhouse features The Deuce,  the brand new restaurant , situated on the veranda overlooking the historic 18th hole of Pinehurst No. 2, and the 91st Hole, the ideal spot to gather after a round of golf, and shop for the best in Pinehurst apparel and merchandise in the Pro Shop. In 2013, Pinehurst completed a $3.7 million renovation to the member clubhouse, which is adjacent to the Resort Club. The renovation includes an interior redesign and dramatic architectural improvements to the East Veranda overlooking Pinehurst No. 2.

Pinehurst Golf Academy

You won’t find a more perfect setting to better your game than Pinehurst. And no other golf school is more equipped to teach and inspire than Pinehurst’s award-winning Golf Academy. We guarantee a low student-to-teacher ratio of 4:1, so you’ll receive plenty of personal attention.

Practice Facilities

Donald Ross invented the driving range, changing forever the way the game was practiced and taught. Dubbed “Maniac Hill,” Pinehurst’s great practice area is, as Tommy Armour put it 70 years ago, “…to golf what Kitty Hawk is to flying.”

Our expansive short-game practice area covers more than four acres and features five greens, giving you the opportunity to work on every level of the short game, from putting, chipping to pitch shots and bunker play.
