Heather Glen Golf Course earned its first national ranking in 1987 by Golf Digest as America’s #1 New Public Course.  Since that revered award was bestowed, the course has been accordingly recognized.  In particular it has gathered many other recognition's among the South Carolina courses.

Additionally Heather Glen’s recognition among the country’s best golf courses continued throughout the years since. Golf Digest named it to the Top 50 Public Courses in America in 1990.  Following that award, it was then named to as a Top 5 Courses in South Carolina in 1995.  Subsequently it was awarded 4.5 Stars in Golf Digest’s Places to Play readers’ choice poll in 2002.  Heather Glens’ award winning tradition continues today as a historic 19th century Scottish design.
