Located on the base of the Ring of  Kerry this outstanding links course origins date back to 1889, and it is imbued with a sense of prestige and presence.

The course was assembled by legendary Irish architect Eddie Hackett, who has had marvellous input into so many links golf courses. It is a typical Hackett design, in that it features differing challenges at every hole, with a climactic finish ahead. The seventeenth hole is probably the best known on the course. The tee for this par three hole is 250 feet above sea level, giving patrons the opportunity to gaze out towards the splendid beaches which surround the course, and out beyond to the Atlantic.

With it being set in the Ring of Kerry, a player could not wish for a more enjoyable locale for a round of golf. The par five eleventh is another amazing hole. This 500 yard hole is played between large dunes with flourishing straw grass on either side. The stillness people encounter on their walk down the fairway is unmatched anywhere else. It is appropriately named “Tranquillity”. Gary Player, one of the game’s greatest ever players, described the eleventh hole as “the most beautiful and satisfying par five of them all.”
Waterville truly is a premier golf course. With the calibre of course matched by the unparalleled sights and sounds, Waterville promises an unforgettable experience. The astonishing views off the seventeenth alone will make your trip extraordinary.
