The Killarney Golf & Fishing Club consists of three championship courses with the Killeen Course being the the top tier championship level course, which has hosted the Irish Open on four occasions, most recently in 2011. The fairways are cut tight, with trees supplying a natural border almost all the way down. There is a notable water feature on the majority of holes, and the designs of the holes have been shaped to allow these geographic entities make the course as challenging as possible. Long accurate shots, particularly off the tee, are rewarded on Killeen. The tenth hole features a magnificent par 3, where it is almost as if you are playing on to the lake. The final hole, known as the “Slán Abhaile”, is a beautiful way to end your round, with the trees sheltering you as you putt.
